Michael
Bornstein,M.D., F.A.A.P.
Biography:
Michael
Eliot Bornstein was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts, a small
beach town just outside of Boston. He lived in Winthrop until
he left for Cambridge to attend Harvard University. After
graduating Cum Laude from Harvard in 1986, he headed off to
attend medical school at Boston University School of Medicine.
One day, while considering which residency program he would
like to attend, Dr. Bornstein stood looking out of a large
window on the top floor of the B.U. library. When he looked
to the right, he saw the city where he grew up; when he looked
to the left, he saw the city where he spent his college years.
At that moment he realized that there was so much more of
the country that he'd like to see. He decided on the pediatric
residency program offered at The University of California,
Irvine which included wonderful pediatric experience at three
large pediatric hospitals: UC Irvine Medical Center, Children's
Hospital of Orange County, and Long Beach Memorial Miller
Children's Hospital.
Shortly
after his residency program began, he met his future wife,
Aimee who was working in the Pediatric ICU. They were married
in 1992. After residency, they decided to open a private practice
in Richmond, Texas. With Aimee managing the office, Dr. Bornstein
was able to focus completely on medicine and the care of his
patients. 1998 was a big year for the Bornsteins. Their son
Alec was born in February and their second office was opened
in April. Now Bornstein Pediatrics is a family affair as Michael,
Aimee, Alec and Zack go to the office together every day.
While
caring for his patients in his private practice, Dr. Bornstein
realized that he wanted to provide a resource for parents
who were interested in understanding more about children's
health. He decided to create ibabydoc.com in December of 1999.
Dr.
Bornstein, Aimee, Alec and Zack settled in Sugar Land, Texas.
