Introduction

The checkup at this age can be very interactive between a child and pediatrician. Usually children at this age are very talkative with the pediatrician. This is also the time when children are entering elementary school. They are getting used to a more structured environment. This visit is a time to discuss vaccines and catch up on any missed vaccines, review growth and development, bathroom habits, sleep behavior, speech, discipline, diet, safety, perform a physical examination and answer any questions.
