Two Month Well Checkup

Introduction

1.

The two-month old visit is a time to discuss vaccinations, review growth and development, the feeding schedule, safety, sleeping, perform a physical examination and answer any questions.

2.

The feeding schedule can be discussed at this visit. The best and only necessary food at this age is breast milk or formula. The introduction of solid foods will usually occur between four to six months of age. Some children, such as those with gastroesophageal reflux, may have rice cereal added to their formula. But this is not necessary in children without reflux. Early introduction of foods can cause allergy in the child so it is best to wait until at least four months of age and preferably six months of age.
