hi dr b
back in my "youth" i would not have thought twice about getting in a hot tub at a friends house or at a rental beach house....but now! smile

So,the beach house we are renting in May has a hot tub attached to the pool. I know my 9 year old is going to want to get in it; I'm thinking I will want to as well. Is it safe? How do I know if it's treated properly?

I've heard of people getting sick on cruise ships in the past few years....

should we stay out of the hot tub?

Hi,

It's always a risk. If they put in chlorine then it would be fine. If it's just water then it could cary whatever the last person had on their skin.

i'm sure it's a treated hot tub. I was thinking more of legionaires disease, that illness that people seem to get on cruise ships....
